Disclaimer: I’ve never performed a shell and pea routine in my life. I’ve played around with several pea and shell sets, I know some of the basic moves, and I understand how important it is to be able to steal (and load) peas from the shells. With that in mind, I think the magicians who do perform this ancient classic are going to find favor with this utility device.

Essentially, we have a fake stack of poker chips, glued together with a hollowed out bottom and a magnet embedded within; this is a shell pea holdout utility device. Included with the stack are several rubber peas with magnetic cores and a duplicate stack of loose poker chips. Whether you switch the real poker chips (used in a 3-fly routine)? for the fake one or just rest the stacks on the table as decoration is up to you.

This utility works great, both loading and unloading from the secret holdout was very easy. I especially loved it when I discovered you could lift up the stack of chips, move it to the other side of the table, and still retain the pea underneath (due to the magnets).

Bottom Line:
Great utility for people who perform this type of routine.
