Any Ring

Here’s a no-brainer: If you use a ring vanishing hanky, throw it away and get Any Ring – that’s an order sir! Any Ring takes away the major downfall of all its predecessors. Unlike other ring vanishing hankies, where the magician is required to search for the right sized ring to vanish, this hanky is capable of doing the job with any sized ring, anything from a lady’s thin finger ring to a large wide band, and everything in between.

Mind Control By Derek Merdinyan

I’m Derek Merdinyan and right now I’ll be reviewing the ‘Remastered’ version of Bill Abbott’s “Mind Control”.
Mind Control
This one is pretty simple. Several borrowed objects (up to 10) are laid out on a table, the spectator selects one, and a prediction is revealed – one that’s been in view at all times. It plays nicely for ‘impromptu’ situations as well as on the stage. Some people may be skeptical of how easy some ‘impromptu’ effects are to carry around – it’s as simple as having your keys on hand, business cards in your wallet, and a pen in your pocket.

Bill explains how to perform the basic routine – with three objects, and then builds on that to explain some easy and logical (!) forces so the routine can be performed with up to ten borrowed objects.

The whole package fits nicely together, with one small exception – the provided pen has a cheap plastic feel to it – almost Tenyo-like. That said, for $25 dollars, this is an excellent bit of mentalism that you will find yourself using – anytime!

Iced Over
I’m Derek Merdinyan and right now I’ll be reviewing “Iced Over”.

If only you could do this for real! Luckily, as magicians, we can fake just about anything, and turning water into ice is just one possibility…

Iced Over is really a borderline product – in that you’re either going to be super excited about using it, or you’ll toss it into ‘the drawer’. If you find yourself performing in restaurants in the summer, there is no effect more appropriate. This also plays nicely when having dinner with friends or potential clients.

But, beware, while you can create ‘ice’ that is safe to put into a drink, it must go into YOUR drink, not someone else’s. And while I’m knocking this down a bit, let me just add that this requires sleeves…

Than what does this have to offer you ask? Aside from the ‘standard’ routine, creating ice from water, the instructions cover 5 other routines and effects that bridge out from just creating water. There are even two ‘sleeveless’ variations.

Iced Over retails for $25 and comes with three ice gimmicks.

Steve Shufton’s “3D Paradox” By Derek Merdinyan

3D Paradox
For those unfamiliar with the effect, the magician starts the effect by handing an envelope over to one of the spectators, from there, a selected, signed card appears inside an envelope, on a 3D greeting card, inside the envelope, held the entire time by the spectator! Another cool bit, you could mail this envelope off before a performance and have a guest hold onto it until you get to this particular effect.

3D Paradox comes in two models, both the ‘Guru’ and ‘Magician’ model work the same and neither of them works better than the other since they both work great!

These cards were assembled by hand and work wonderfully. To really appreciate the quality, you have to get one of these in your hands.

I think this could be the next Napkin Rose – provided Steve can find a way to produce additional non-gimmicked ‘refills’ that could be switched in and given away. This is a signed card give away that anyone would proudly display on their shelf.

3D Paradox retails for $25 and comes with one envelope and 3D greeting card.
