There have been multiple attempts to bring the story of Jasper Maskelyne’s World War II exploits to the big screen, but several outlets (including Collider) are reporting Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Doctor Strange) will star as Maskelyne in an adaptation of David Fisher’s controversial book directed by Colin Trevorrow.
Go Erie is reporting Kellar’s Magic and Comedy Club is kicking off its 2021 season of live, in-person magic performances. You can read more about their season on the “>Go Erie site and take a sneak peek inside the club in the coverage originally airing a few months ago on Fox 66.
It is awesome to see live performances returning across the country!
Speaking of magic and therapy, Yahoo News ran a piece on therapist and magician Tyler Twombly, who made an appearance on Penn & Teller: Fool Us last Friday.
i am getting my oral surgery today so I should be really out of it the rest of the week. Sorry I haven’t posted more lately… typing makes me more than a little dizzy for some crazy reason.
Two quick updates, though. First, the Ed Sullivan YouTube page posted this clip of Channing Pollack performing on the show in December of 1959.
Finally, if one goes to KansasAuctions.net and searches for magic they will find what seems the contents of a magic shop. I don’t have the attention span to really search through the contents but there are lots of prints, posters and various effects broken up into lots. Thanks to long time magic shop owner and antique dealer Phil Klein for the heads up on that.

So here is the deal: I am medicated, having more normal poor reaction to antibiotics (I am not allowed to drive and with good reason) and will be having oral surgery next Tuesday. We’ll be a bit spotty through next week. Sorry. But I did not to clear a few things out of my stack of news!
