According his twitter, Penn Jillette will sacrifice 10 inches of his ponytail for Locks for Love. Teller will be doing the honors, and it is doubtful that it will be a cut and restored ponytail trick.
We would like to thank everyone who helped Chris Mayhew reach his goal of raising $1,000 for cancer research. Mayhew shaved his head live on the site yesterday to help drum up the last few hundred. You can see the archived video here.
Chris sent us this message this morning:
Dear Justin,
A great thanks to everyone, the goal has been reached of one thousand dollars for the american cancer society. I am now bald, and my head is cold, but it was worth it.
He’s lovable, he mumbles, he owns a beautiful head of hair worthy of a romance novel cover. Yet tomorrow evening, only two of those facts will still be true about Chris Mayhew.
As we mentioned last week, Chris will shave his head in an effort to raise money for cancer research.
Help him reach his goal by donating right now. Then tune in to this website Sunday at 7 p.m. EDT to watch him remove his gorgeous locks. Then mock his silly bald head in the chat room.
Mock like you’ve never mocked before. For charity.
I wish that my cause was much more noble than it really is. The truth is, it’s not. I recently made a stupid bet with a friend and ended up losing. The punishment for the loss was that I had to shave my head completely bald. I was very upset about this until I found out that my aunt had been diagnosed with cancer. Then I was really upset! but from darkness there is always a ray of light, and I realized that I could use this situation to raise money to fight cancer. So I am asking you to help out by donating a few dollars to help save lives. This may not seem like much, at least one person in every country around the world is also raising money, and that money adds up and eventually, we will be able to find the cure for cancer. I may not have started out doing this for the right reason, but theres still time to change that, and it starts with you.
The head shaving itself will be done live here on the front page of this very site this Sunday. So please, give a little to a good cause and then laugh your face off while Mayhew gets one step closer to playing Col. Kurtz in a community theater production of Apocalypse Now.
