Rude boys don’t cry… but they might be today. Ska music legend Prince Buster, born Cecil Campbell, passed away yesterday at age 78. The first Jamaican artist to have a top 20 hit in Britain with his classic “Al Capone,” Buster was a driving force in ska and rocksteady releasing classics such as “Judge Dread,” “One Step Beyond” and “Madness” (which you are currently enjoying). Read more about the legendary Prince Buster on The Guardian website.

Some tour and TV appearance news today, then on to Video Friday. And for anyone shocked (or annoyed) that we kicked off the day with Prince Buster, can you believe that yesterday was also the 50th anniversary of Star Trek and I didn’t even mention it… much less post a video? I can’t!

KnoxNews.com is reporting local magician Ben Young is appearing on tonight’s edition of Penn & Teller: Fool Us. They talk to him about the opportunity the show presents magicians as well.

Reza is in Texas; you can get the details about his Granary Operahouse appearances tonight and tomorrow on the Hood County News site.

Meanwhile, the Tahoe Daily Tribune reports tonight and tomorrow are the last two days of shows from Alex Ramon at the Lake Tahoe Harrah’s.

Stay tuned for Video Friday. I’m going to break out some very scratchy old 45s and remember Prince Buster.
