Andrew Mayne, owner of iTricks and star of A&E’s Don’t Trust Andrew Mayne, stopped by the CNN Headline News program Showbiz Tonight to talk about his new show. During the interview Andrew takes advantage of the fact that host AJ Hammer knows not to trust him but has promised the audience magic… if Hammer’s HLN iPhone turns up on ebay, we’ll feature it in a Magic on the Block post!

I wonder if Andrew would ever answer these posts (If this even gets posted). I’m sorry, but this trick is cutting from one shot to another. We see him covering the bike, cut to close up of him, then back to the supposed covered bike. Insert shot, now the baloon is inflated. We’re supposed to think the bike dissapears? Another trick that should one continuous shot. I’m really sotty to feel this way, but anybody can do these TV tricks.

Andrew: Shouldn’t we “TRUST” you to show the trick as we would see it, not with all the cuts between the bike disappearing? There is no evidence that these kind of tricks are done as presented.

Hey Snow: I was thinking of you, I didn’t know if you could get the show with your $19.95 Rabbit Ears, second one free, just payseperate S&H. (Just kidding). I think there were 4 cameras, because we see 3 in some of the shots. If you check the credits, it lists 2 camera operators, and 2 camera assistants, whatever that means. The problem with so many cuts is you don’t know how much time elapses between them. Tricks that are cut together are not magic. I really expected so much more from the show. Try to catch the show tonight. Wish you would comment more, am I the only genius here?

Ha ha, very funny. I don’t have rabbit ears. It’s a big honking antenna bolted to the roof, so there! Haven’t you heard of cord-cutters? Justin has a new podcast relating to that with Brian. I’m the one with no cable bill, so I think that makes ‘me’ the bigger genius of the two of us? ;-) No, I won’t be watching any more episodes because I’m not paying to watch his show when he won’t even take a minute to watch a pilot I’m producing for local television. I’m still cranky at him for that lol. He’s all take and no give..so, why should I?
