Murray SawChuck recently visited the UMC Trauma Center in Las Vegas. Luckily, he was not a patient but an invited guest. While you might be thinking “Slow news day,” there is more to the story. reported that Murray was so impressed with the facility he promised to make arrangements for the Friends For Life shelter to bring by some of their puppies to help cheer up patients. He also promised to come visit patients on Christmas. To top it all off, though, Murray donated a pair of tickets to each of the 4000 UMC employees! recently profiled ex-judo coach and magician David Denmead who is under consideration for a volunteer award. David was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease almost 10 years ago and started to tour nursing and care homes to help raise awareness of the condition. A 40 year member of the Cornish Magical Society, in addition to building awareness through magic he also educates the staff of Parkinson UK on what it is like to live with the disease.

Charleston/Huntington’s WCHS ABC 8 printed a three piece article by meteorologist Doug Harlow on the local encounter between medium Elizabeth Blake and magician David Abbott shortly after the turn of the century. Students of the anti-spiritualist crusade undertaken by magicians may recognize his name as the author of Behind the Scenes with Mediums.
