Jason Alexander talks about magic, his one man show and sprouting hair in an effort to escape the image of George from Seinfeld in an interview with the Modesto Bee. Alexander might have one of this year’s greatest quotes about magic: “The only reason there isn’t any magic in my touring show is because it’s a pain in the ass to carry the things you need to bring to have a magic show. But magic is very much a part of my life, to my wife’s great chagrin.”

The America’s Got Talent Live Tour (promo video above) is under way. They are in Reno tonight (Friday, October 18) and will then head to San Francisco, Fresno, San Diego, Las Vegas, LA before heading to the Midwest and ending on the East Coast. Included on the bill on AGT winner Kenichi Ebina (we still say he is a magician), magician/mentalist Collins Key and aspiring one hit wonder Tone the Chiefrocca.

Speaking of America’s Got Talent, season nine auditions start next week in Miami followed by live auditions in six other cities across the country. Online auditions are also available. There are some real mixed feelings in the magic world about the show, but it still remains one of the few national platforms for a new magic act to get on television. Halloween is approaching and it is a great time of year for live magic shows. From libraries to haunted houses, many event organizers see magicians as a family friendly form of entertainment that can tie into the season without being too scary. iTricks would like to encourage everyone to support live magic in your area; maybe it will even encourage more live magic all year long!
