Magicians want to be on television. Television, oftentimes, wants magic.

The process by which a magician gets on television can be a long and frustrating one. Pitch meeting after pitch meeting, notes, test tapes, interest, disinterest, renewed interest and a healthy dose of waiting are all common side effects.

This journey, and the slow psychosis that often-time accompanies it, is chronicled by Justin Flom and Rick Lax in this video diary. They are pitching a show that we would assume is something close to the Iron Chef-meets-magic Wizard Wars video they produced a little while ago.

Among the channels they pitched to the only one named is Spike TV although they also take meetings at Viacom and somewhere with offices in or near Universal Studios.

Looking forward to the SHOW. I thought the pre-Pilot filmed in the apartment was wonderful and funny!
