David Blaine took to a Google Plus hangout with fellow magician Justin Willman yesterday to talk about his new stunt Electrified, which begins tonight. It was all part of Shira Lazar’s program What’s Trending.
Here is what we learned:
• There will be secret codes: Fans watching live will be able to affect the intensity of the electricity firing around Blaine, but a few secret codes will be able to make things go crazy. He mentioned the “db” is one of them.
• He’s already been hurt: Two nights ago in his first rehersal on location the back of his head hit his helmet cage and it “felt like getting punched in the back of the head by Kimbo Slice”
• Is this the last endurance stunt for a little while? At one point, when asked why he does stunts like these Blaine ended his answer by saying that after these 72 hours he was going to “build a normal magic show and take it across the country.” Blaine on tour? Interesting.
• He’s had no elongated rehearsal: Each time he tries to work with the apparatus for any lengthy period of time, things have gone wrong and it has had to be shut down.
