Housekeeper Pleads Guilty to Stealing Over $53 Thousand from Derren Brown

A housekeeper for UK magic icon Derren Brown has plead guilty to stealing two blank checks from the mentalist while he was on tour in 2010. Rocio Pavon-Navarrete used a second suspect to pay over $53 thousand into a bank account.

Sentencing will take place next month.

She is now facing jail after Judge David Higgins warned her: ‘Whilst I adjourned for a pre-sentence report the high probability remains that she will be sentenced to immediate custody given that which is obviously the grossest breach of trust.

‘I wish her to be under no illusions as to what the future is likely to hold given the very serious criminality.’

Authorities are also now investigating if Pavon-Navarrete is a legal resident of the United Kingdom.

    Doesn’t this shoot down the idea that he’s a mentalist? It’s like Sylvia Browne not knowing a brick will fall on her head. I really believe he uses stooges, and there’s at least one video showing him using camera tricks. He very convincing, but you can’t fool everybody.

    He left two checks in case there were any emergencies that needed to be taken care of. It was a breech of trust.
