The Academy Of Magical Arts Award nominations will be revealed tomorrow, but if you take a look through the Twitter and Facebook accounts of your favorite magicians, you might get a sneak peek.
In order for the academy to confirm all those tabbed by a preliminary vote, emails were sent this weekend to see if those selected would accept their nominations. From there, they are free to say what they’d like.
For example, the Magic Castle Facebook page alone reveals that Paul Green, Jon Armstrong, Suzanne and Derek DelGaudio have been nominated for Close-Up Magician of the Year.
Armstrong is nominated again for Lecturer of the Year alongside a combined trio of Andrew Mayne, Rudy Coby and Chris Kenner for their tag team lecture during Magic Vs. Science week last April. Meanwhile, Coby was nominated a second time for what we are guessing is Stage Magician of the Year.
Have you noticed your favorite magician thanking his friends and family for an AMA nomination? Meanwhile, who is your pick to win among those we know already? Let us know in the comments.

As we reported months ago, Keith Barry has been working on his Discovery Channel series in Los Angeles but activity on his Facebook page gives a few more details.
Barry is apparently collaborated with Bro Gilbert and Andrew Gerard on the cable series and has wrapped shooting. His next projects will be two Irish live shows, a return of his Asylum show and new outing titled 8 Deadly Sins. Irish Magic News spoke to the man himself and confirms he’s headed back home after a few months stateside.
The image above is from what Barry called his most dangerous illusion ever. He also hints that the series might premiere in April. That would mean we should see some kind of promo or tease for it within the next few weeks.
According to our earlier report, the series is titled Deception and is slated for 13 episodes.

It looks like yet another magic movie is getting the green light this week. A while back we reported that Steve Carell was to star in a new magician-comedy flick “Burt Wonderstone”, the story of a Las Vegas magician, who gets a rival in the form of “a hip younger illusionist,” which leads Carell having to “find a way to rediscover his love for magic. According to the Hollywood Reporter the film has now gotten a director and is one step closer to the big screen. Emmy winning director Charles McDougall has now been called upon to direct the project. The film is set to start shooting within the next few months. Of course, more on this when we hear about it.
