Mentalist Chris Hughes wants to hypnotize you via your Twitter and Facebook. What are the social ramifications of such an event? Will Farmville ever recover? How many hits will go unnoticed in Mafia Wars?
It all takes place January 4th. Hughes is asking for all who participate to be sitting in comfy chair and have speakers readily available. We ask that the chair not be in your moving Honda Accord while you’re driving your children to school. Depending on the response, he’s hoping to set a world record.

Corey Taylor from Slipknot came to see the Penn & Teller show this week, he came backstage, pleasantries were surely exchanged and pictures taken. But do you see the look on Penn’s face in this pic above? There is a reason he is so bemused.
From Penn’s Twitter.
We posed for a picture with Corey from Slipknot. We had to tell him to put his thumb IN for heavy Metal.
This raises the question, if the lead singer from Slipknot says it’s metal. Isn’t it by definition metal?
If you’ve ever commuted to work/school/gigs while listening to the soothing sounds of NPR’s Morning Edition you are familiar with the work of newsman Carl Kassell. After over three decades as the AM news anchor, Kassell is relinquishing the mic although he will continue to judge the popular quiz program Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me.
And, as we found out in a farewell story about him, he is a lifelong practitioner of magic. Above we have a clip of his performing Scotch and Soda and according to the story he once sawed NPR’s Nina Totenberg in half.
Thanks to iTricks supporter Becca for the tip.

David Copperfield posts the strongest showing we’ve ever seen for a magic show on the Ticket News.com Vegas rankings last week as his plan to bulk up shows through the holidays seems to have paid off. DC barely placed behind perennial top liner Cher, who basically lives amongst the top spots of this chart with Bette Midler.
Meanwhile, rumors of Amazing Johnathan’s demise at the Harmon Theater have been greatly exagerrated, his show placed at number 10 on the list.
