Wow Hal congrats… You just got another long list of comments in one thread. Funny how its constantly you who starts them and everyone else is constantly saying that you know not of what you talk about… So congrats on starting another topic about how your an idiot… YAY! By the way stop trying to post up e-mails from Tony Hassini… Aint nothing to brag about… No one really knows who Hassini is. I would be more impressed if you had a e-mail from Angel him self. (Or here is a hint for you.) Send a e-mail to Banachek. Hes really good at responding to e-mails when hes not on the road. Maybe he will tell you how the tricks were done since hes one of the guys that came up with most of them…

I can't believe I'm going to waste my time commenting to Hal, but here goes. Hal, you claim to be something of an “expert” when it comes to spotting edits and continuity errors, and yet you can't spot the “gaff” in Copperfield's building implosion stunt? If that show were rebroadcast today, idiots like Fox and Trickbusters would be all over it. By the way, your Youtube pals the Trickbusters (someone get these morons a dictionary so they can look up the word “illusionist”) also exposed a lot of Copperfield's greatest illusions, which were later pulled by DCI.

Whatever your personal views on Criss Angel are, I can't believe (if you love magic the way you claim you do) you would side with idiots like the Trickbusters

Timothy, I have no idea who you are either. You mentioned the “Masked Magician”. In the 13 new shows, he exposed 130 tricks, some big illusions, some not worth watching. But, of the 130 tricks, NONE, I repeat NONE, were camera tricks, edits, or DC. We each have our own opinion as to him being right exposing the tricks. I've said before, I'm not a magician, just someone who really likes magic. I am able to figure out many tricks, some I've learned by reading, or watching such as the masked magician or 'Trickbusters'. I think they have a right to expose what they figure out themselves, because nobody is telling them. If a magician is good, the audience won't figure them out. There were many of Copperfield's tricks I watched many times and had no idea. Some of Burton's TV tricks were easy. But Criss Angel is so easy, it's a shame. Other than his card tricks (I gave up on card tricks years ago, how many places can you pull a chosen card from?). How many magicians can you watch, and figure out almost all of their tricks without even watching a second time. I stick by my opinion too, he's NOT doing magic. I've convinced more than you would believe what a fake he is. I hope that your act is good enough, that the audience doesn't walk out saying, 'I know how he did that'.

Hal.. I am not going to argue with you. I have no idea who you are or what your experience in magic is. I have made my living from Magic for over 15 years and would put my knowledge of the art up against just about any body. I am holding to this one. The method Criss used HAS and IS still being used by the big boys of magic to this day. I am not talking about Camera Tricks but rather the method of distraction or giving a false impression of where the magi is at a certain time. Variations on this are as old as the hills.

Regards getting caught... Magic is mostly about misdirection. If you capture any magician on video and watch it over and over again you will spot method or things that point to it eventually. A live audience might not see a steal or dump on first viewing but having the ability to rewind and watch a 2nd, 3rd and 4th time will show them the method.

Among the top rules in Magic is... "NEVER perform a trick for the same audience twice... lest you surely will get busted." Any magi worth his salt knows this one but tv is tv and if you are going to perform on it someone will eventually see how its done from repeated viewings. In this case good ol' exposers FOX wanted to be the jerk in the audience who stood up and hollered the method. Bad on them!

End of topic as far as I am concerned. I am not going to waste time trying to change your mind or convince you just as I suggest you have no more chance of changing any Angel fans about what they want to believe.

Timothy: Even if I agreed with you about how he did the trick, (Which I CERTAINLY DO NOT), that is in NO WAY magic, how do you explain the way he screwed it up? If this woman at FOX saw it, (I know I did, I recorded it, and while watching the DVD, instantly reversed it, and saw the error right away) and broadcast it right after the show, what kind of crappy magician is he? This is the king of magic producing this garbage? And if you watched the FOX tape, the stupid mistake at the end of the stunt. These are professionals, evidently the video people are as bad as he is.The last screw up I can remember, that bad was over 20 years ago. The Pendragons were on a live show, hosted by William Shatner, doing 'Metamorphosis' (sorry if the spelling is wrong). She gave away how it was done. Would Copperfield or Burton put on a show where half the audience, who arent magicians figure it out. For someone so bad, that they have to resort to his Mindfake magic is pathetic. His success is totally due to his appeal to women, and ignorance about magic. I still can't believe any one who is dedicated to the “ART” of magic can support ANYTHING this fraud does. Shortly after Mindfake came on, I e-mailed Tony Hassini. He said he was interested in how Criss does his phony magic, then only said Criss was good for bringing magic back to TV. But he also said, he was not familiar with the methods Criss used.

Well.... I can't believe I am actually going to defend Criss but here goes.

HAL.... Criss used a tool to create a diversion while he made his getaway. Similar methods are used on stage all the time in live performances.

I don't see anything wrong with the fact that he used this tool as it was part of a live performance. I'm the first to cry foul over the video camera effects and digital trickery Criss has used so often but the building implosion was a legit use of the method he used. FOX's exposure of it was no better than their Masked Magician exposure shows.

FIF: I wonder if your'e big enough to admit the truth. I can't explain the 'IMPLOSION' here because of their policy. Go on youtube under “Criss Angel FOX”. There's a Director named Barbara explaining his joke. You say you were at the implosion. You only saw to the point where he went in the building. As I said, it's the most SCREWED UP trick in magic history. Watch the video and then tell me I'm wrong. Put your brain where your mouth is. You claim it was “LIVE”. Do you wan't the truth, or just to keep worshipping this total fraud. Let's hear your answer??????

So implosion wasn't live? I was there…were you? Criss was really handcuffed to a building that imploded. That was the reality. The illusion of the escape is what keeps people talking years later…like you.

In one sentence, you dis Criss' tricks as lame..and then say you've seen other magicians do the same thing. So, when you call Criss lame you call all magicians lame because in your words they are all doing the same tricks.

No FIF, I'm making fun of dorko Criss. What Criss does ISN'T magic. What he does is not illusion either. He does what Superman, Batman, Harry Potter, and all the movie people do, he AIN'T really doing it. For those of you who think Criss is a magician, your brain is on 'Pause'. Why doesn't Criss ever do any “LIVE” shows on TV? (And don't say the Implosion was 'LIVE', we all know better). Maybe because he doesn't have enough material? And speaking of Florida, we moved to Florida some years ago. Our kids became geniuses, because the Educational system was so far behind. It's no wonder you fall for Criss Angel. Criss Angel there is equivilent to SpongeBob here. You thought that “A” on his hat means Angel, it's really Ass.

Sorry…blowin out your ass..to quote a friend. Your right again…Criss is in a class all of his own. You slam Criss for tricks that other magicians have done. Criss just puts his own spin on it. As other magicians do all the time. The library is limited…but only limited to the magicians imagination.

FIF: Since you quote Wikipedia, go on under Criss Angel. Click on 'Discussions'. You will read there about Criss' phony act and how he does his phony tricks. Criss isn't like other magicians, he's in a class by himself. What he does isn't magic. My messages aren't off topic, fans of Criss always think the topic is praise and worship for this con artist. The topic here, since it's iTricks should be magic. When your'e done reading about Criss, go to David Copperfield. You'll see the accomplishments of a real magic performer with things Criss couldn't match if he lives to 120. Criss' magic and Britney Spears lip sync are about the same. I'm not making fun of the whole industry, Criss has done all he can to destroy honest magicians.
