If you mean me, sorry to disappoint you. Why would I go to the most "SCREWED UP" trick in magic history? If you weren't bright enough to figure out that phony joke, I understand why your'e such a fan. I do edit pictures and put them on the A&E site. I've had Criss hanged, in the Electric Chair, in front of a firing squad, blown up in the land mine farce, Daffy Duck as Criss' son (They both have the same Lisp), Criss, Barbara Walters, and OJ Simpson in a bathtub together, Criss in bed with Carrot Top, Criss-Mother-and brothers on Mt. Rushmore, titled 'Mount Fakemore', and many others. Criss is an easy target to make jokes about, because he is a big joke. The "BLIND" are those who can't see through his phony act. They don't need laser pointers.
friendinflorida
Wait a minute. I remember you now. Your the crazy wacko that threatened over and over again on blog sites that you were going to blind Criss at building implosion with laser pointers.
HAL
Sorry, I don't know how his.. came up on the e-mail adress it's nana12027@comcast.net
HAL
Sorry Justin, wrong again. If you could check back on the A&E site, I predicted how he would do the Implosion stunt a week before it aired. If you didn't spot it when he did it, I hope your'e not a performing magician. How embarrassing was it when a News program reveals a magicians trick shortly after it airs. The man is a total joke. If you have an honest bone in your body, you'd admit "HE SCREWED UP HIS OWN TRICK". And please, I'm not giving away any methods here, just stating a fact. And if you know so much, I'd be glad to hear how you think Copperfield did his..nana12027@comcast.net (Of course Criss did his version about 15 years after Copperfield, I guess Criss can take credit for it like he does for all his other demonstrations). How good is a trick when half the viewers know how its done "DURING THE TRICK". Again, he SUCKS. BTW, watch the Larry King show, Larry figured out the steamroller watching the clip. Yes, Criss is the King. And again, how many stunt men are on fire, but Criss is different, the girl was hung by hooks, ditto, the guy who died being burried didn't do it as Criss did, and really, burried for over a half hour, how stupid are we, say something that makes sense. Stuntmen don't try to pass off what they do as magic. Maybe Criss can strap himself to the next shuttle being launched, you'd probably believe that too. His magic belongs on Sesame Street. He could pull Big Bird out of a handkerchief. How bad does he have to become before you see what he really is?
And halismy: Thanks for the honest answer, I don't think they want us to know how many tickets are sold. A good amount would bring more to the show, but bad sales would caution people to stay away. With all the bad reviews for beLIEve, it amazes me that his friends would see the show.
halismybiiotch
hal,
don't get me wrong, I don't care or Mindfweak or Believe either, I've seen it a few times...i'm on your side, just busting balls. I can't speak for the other brokers/kiosks as ours doesn't have a contract with AIG who does Bette and Cher. We deal with pH, mgm/mirage...mostly non-Harrah's owned properties, the shows downtown and such.
i'm simply saying that I agree that the stats from that site are screwy, but as for our location, it IS a popular seller, there is buzz and i rarely get any magicians...it is mostly fans of mindfreak. and no one has ever returned to complain. it sells seats, and that's what matters to the bottom line. that IS ultimately what it is about to him, cirque and the hotels.
friendinflorida
ps. yeah I'm gonna share. My FAV of all time. Love to be lost in this world of illusion.
ha! This is a magic forum. Nothing you see IS real. That is the beauty of this art. Which I love so much. Yes, not a practioner, well a little bit, but a fan . To escape, if only for a moment. You want real to life...tune into CNN. This is a world of illusion.
Well said JustinSane. Btw, I love your screen name. I count myself in the "justinsane" group. Muah!!!
Earlier version, same trick. Love the long hair. Meow!!!
The question is more like..how many lame and dumb accusations can you dream up Hal? Still waiting for some real evidence on their conversations (him and his mom, him and his 'girl') and proof those emotions they had were always faked.
You haters also called him a mamma's boy no? You contradict yourself talking out of both sides of your mouth. Which accusation is it for today? Is he overly dedicated to his mom, or not dedicated enough? Maybe it depends on which side of the hole you slither out from.
So 'they knew that the danger in these ridiculous stunts was all BS'. Your right again, the fire couldn't hurt a fly, helicopter had him hanging only a foot off the ground, his water and explosion stunts were all computer tricks, steamroller was a camera trick, that guy who died buried alive is that BS too? You're also dissing real stuntmen who have died or gotten injured doing similiar stunts in movies. You are a class act.
Even with his tiny gaff, his implosion escape is less obvious than Copperfields. If a 10 year old could figure out Angel's as you said, then a 5 year old could figure out Copperfields. The more you bring this up, the worse you look, not that you could look any worse.
Present your lame accusations to a real judge and he'd say "Stop wasting my time village idiot, dismissed."
HAL
Brookie: You posted the sawed in half video from Mindfake: I can't explain it here. You say your'e a drama student. May I suggest you submit that video to your teachers, and ask them to tell you whats wrong with the video. If you believe it was for real, maybe you should change your course.
friendinflorida
Thanks to Criss...I have discovered a whole world of illusion. All you magic guys and gals out there...I tip my hat. This site is so much frickin fun....muah!!!
friendinflorida
lmfao...@ screenname
Prediction, truths will be ignored and more, make no sense rants will follow.
When I saw this live at Believe, the trick was spot on. Can't wait to go back and see the show again.
HAL
Interesting in the Copperfield interview with Mike Weatherford: He asks Copperfield about "Another Vegas Show" (obviously Criss Angel) who promised to 'RE-INVENT' magic, but "DIDN'T". Even the people printing the articles know Criss is nothing but BS. What an opportunity for Copperfield to put Criss down as the phony amatuer that he is, but had more dignity. I apologise for mentioning Copperfield and Angel in the same paragraph.
HAL
Oh BROOKIE: Of course I know about 'Green Screen', the same TV process is called 'Chromakey'. Do you wan't to compare our knowledge? Let me ask you a question. Film is projected at 24 frames per second. TV transmission is 30 frames per second. How do they transfer a film to videotapeto be shown on TV? In 'Digital Compositing' the Green Screen is created on the computer, the actor doesn't have to be in front of anything. The backround is removed, and replaced with whatever you want. I will put my knowledge against yours any time.
And halismy: (I'll bet you post under another name). Am I missing something here? If Criss has the higest purchases, why is he always beat out by Midler, Cher, Leno, Manilow etc., and many weeks not even on the list? Wouldn't he be #1? I saw Midler and Copperfield in PA and NJ, and it certainly was more than $50. That cheap in Vegas doesn't sound like a discount, it sounds like desperation. Do Cher tickets go for $50.? And please tell me why shows never disclose how many tickets are really sold..why such a big secret?
halismybiotch
Many shows in Vegas right now have deep discounts. It is indeed a seasonal lull in crowds before the holidays. It picks right back up again in January when the big conventions come to down. You can get other shows (Cirque among others), primarily with NV resident ID's. Shows are busy, but not full right now. I work in the ticketing industry right here in Vegas. True, Believe is perhaps the top show that is purchased through our particular kiosk.
Brookie
Hal sweetie youre confusing facts with oppinions again. No, no, no, no, no you couldn't possibly justify all that as fact when you don't support it with evidence backed by weeks of studies by a highly reguarded mamber of the film and/or performance industries.
Oh and you claim you have knowledge of the film industry, but you have no idea that Hollywood actors and stuntmen are either placed on gimbles in front of a green screen, or are rigged up for safty... Just incase you want to referance hollywood like that make sure you don't do it were a drama major can rebut.
"The world is full of zanies and fools,
Who don't believe in sensible rules,
And wont believe what sensible people say,
And because these daft and dewy eyed dopes,
Keep building up impossible hopes,
Impossible things are happening everyday".
HAL
I just heard beLIEve tickets are going for $50. No wonder there's a few people in the theatre. The greatest magician in the world, what a bargain this is. Could he be getting desperate? Don't know if this is a fact, but don't pass up a deal like this.
I'd like to know how the magic kit sales are going. Soon, they'll be in K-Mart for $4.95
HAL
Sorry, I meant Justin, not Jason, and to correct myself, it should be break, and whether. Sorry for the mistakes.
HAL
First of all Brookie: Of course you can use facts to define a performance. For instance, can we agree Criss does things on Mindfake that no human being could possibly do? Again, can a human being exit a bike in mid air? So use some simple common sense, if this is 'Impossible', and you see him do it on tape, as he says, 'in one continuous shot, what other explanation can there be than a "VISUAL EFFECT"? Would this be a 'FACT', or just my imagination? I think anybody with a brain could figure this out. So what does this prove? Maybe that Criss' statement that he never does things that he can't do live is a TOTAL LIE? Does this make him a magician, or a stooge in a movie? His ability to appear is probably limited to the length of a beLIEve performance. Again, you defend him, but can't comment on what he's supposed to do...."MAGIC".
And back to Jason: Mom and surgery. What dedicated son would put anything before his mother, weather she agreed or not? If I recall (I could be wrong), I think he was being drug around by a rope on the ground. (Wasn't this a stunt we saw in about 50 old Western movies?) Copperfield (again, if I remember) the interviewer said something about, 'I think Copperfield doesn't exactly like you', and he said, 'It's great to be the King'. Yea, the King who couldn't perform live in the Implosion farce. MY GIRL: Maybe she went along with it because she thought he wouldn't dump her after 15 years when he became a success and had tons of money. His idea was just like many stars who think women would like a single guy. His success did come from attracting women, certainly not from his magic skills. If you are a magician, you should certainly realize that the mother and wife knew that the danger in these ridiculous stunts was all BS. Loads of magicians are burried alive, but poor Criss might die....will you get real? Lance Burton's mother wasn't there with an onion in her dress. Aren't there some bad acting awards out there somewhere? And being on fire....Didn't they at sometime burn Frankenstein, the Mummy, and 500 others, just another Hollywood stunt, but when Criss does it, the poor guy might die....PLEEEEEAAAASSSSEEEE. How many dumb defences can you dream up? He does NOTHING new. There was a girl hung by fish hooks long before Criss. Let him jump 20 school busses and brake a few bones, then brag about how fantastic he is. I liked the 3 drops of chicken blood when he walked on screw drivers, next time I hope they're Phillips Head.
Brookie
If you are asking me to define him as a magician I cannot do that because you can't use facts to define someone as preformer, so what I would have to say would be based on personal opinion and you want something real. Anyway, I can't tell you what I think cause it would be biased.
Justin_Sane
Actually it's YOU who is 'lame', since you can't back up your lame accusations especially about his mom and her surgery.
Please prove Criss ticked her off by rejected her pleas to be with her before her surgery. You keep talking about this practically every 5th-6th post so you should know. Should I take you at you're word that your the village idiot? O.K then, saves me the time of name-calling.
I'm pretty sure his wife knew about the 'my girl' thing. If that is so horrendously disrespecting her, why did she go along with it? maybe she was O.K with it. What your wife does to you is your problem, not Angel's.
He didn't bring up the subject of Copperfield so no need to get your panties in a knot. A reporter asked him about the woman accusing Copperfield of rape and he defended him. I guess you missed THAT part of his giant ego.
Yeah I'm sure his mom and ex's role was to fake crying. Another LAME accusation you can't prove. You can repeat this BS all you want but the fact of the matter is .. even if you know how the trick is done and all the safety measures, when you have your son, daughter, husband whatever ON FIRE, or being buried alive, or being hung by fish hooks from a helicopter, or being blown up, or appearing to go through a woodchipper etc.. you will most likely get emotional pretty easily untill you're sure they're O.K. If their emotions are insulting you, no one's forcing you to watch. Maybe you should go back to that hole you slithered out from.
P.S. Good to see Amazing Johnathan in the top 10, funny witty performer (even if I don't believe the numbers)
HAL
O'h Brookie, so glad we have a psychiatrist giving advice now. I suppose James Randi had a feeling of inadiquacy when he went after Uri Geller? Or, maybe he just felt the need to expose a con artist. Don't you fans have some inadiquacy to defend Criss. Every fan I've heard of 'ALWAYS' defends Criss as a person and the things he does, such as the bimbos he associates with, but 'NEVER' his talent as a magician. Nobody ever proves I'm wrong about the way he does his phony magic act, simply because the 'EVIDENCE' shows I'm right. Can you deny what I say about his magic? For once, forget all the other discussion here, and talk about his "MAGIC". What is wrong or right in any of our lives doesn't change what Criss does. You tell me what he "REALLY" does as a magician.
Brookie
Hal you want the truth well here it is. You are going after Criss because of some deep feelings of inadiquacy. You feel that by going after him you are better and, therefor, make yourself feel better about what is wrong in your life. Deny what I am saying all you want (just as I know you will). I'm speaking from personal experiance I used to be the same way, and have since delt with it.
HAL
Justin: That is the most LAME defense I've ever heard. The great "Elevator" JOKE. You tell me how the black guy WASN'T a stooge. If somebody pushed me into an elevator, not knowing if it was there, I would have the greatest lawsuit of the year. Suppose the guy (who Criss never met before) had a heart attack? Just another ACME stooge trick, and again, not hard to figure out. The heart surgery: I could be wrong, but I believe they mentioned on the Mindfake episode that, after Criss finished his stunt, he would go to where the operation was performed. And the WIFE? If I introduced my wife to people as 'my girl', she would probably divorce me, and be right doing it. He's an Ego maniac, who cares for nobody but himself. When asked about Copperfield, he claimed he is King. He's the King of lies and BS. If he's so cool and modern, how can this idiot figure out almost all of his phony magic. His wife's role on the show was the same as his Mother, the phony 'Boo Hoo', will he be killed doing these stunts. How stupid do you have to be to fall for this whole family of bad actors? I ask again, how can anybody, who claims to be pro magicians, and know magic defend such a pathetic performer as Criss Angel? He's the worst in the history of magic. 12 year old kids on youtube are doing his tricks.
Justin_Sane
Where is the proof he 'made his mother wait' against her requests for him to be there. Don't pretend you have access to their private conversations. J.D said 'we' made the decision, as in family decision. Pretty sure she was in on that decision. It's really their own business not yours. If you can't prove it then maybe you shoudn't be jumping to conclusions and sounding like a broken record.
Actually he gave his girl (wife) the ultimate acknowledgement "I love you". Some prefer that over a piece of paper wife declaration. He always showed plenty of affection on the show and let her give her opinion. She was listed in the credits under 'family'. Not the actions of someone trying to hide, mute, or neglect her. Again you fall short in your rush to judgement bullcrap conclusions.
It's the legal system that 'drags a divorce out forever' how is it only Angel's fault again? No one knows the details but maybe someone can explain why it's taking so long. Are lawyers as greedy as people say? Isn't it advantageous for her to drag it out longer? Is she being greedy asking for a ridiculous amount? Where is the proof it's all Criss Angel's fault?
Criss should've had Hal on the elevator episode and push him into that elevator. Actually, I take that back, Hal doesn't deserve to be on a cool, creative, modern illusionist show. His place is on the internet all day making jokes about killing magicians. Another creative trick with a jaw-dropping finish Mindfreak style. Must of been all camera tricks I say. As far as Criss' fame, I think it's closer to about 8-9 years than 15 minutes.
HAL
Like the song says, 'The Answer is Blowing in the Wind'. I have more brains in my ass than Criss' fans have in their head. "Ignorance is Criss"
HAL
Hey Brookie: I took better pictures than he puts on Twitter when I was 16. Maybe he should invest in a better camera, and learn how to use it. The pictures are as bad as his edits. Can you think of anybody who's more in love with themself than Criss Angel? I think he actually believes his own BS. Who takes pictures up their nose, every shot with the two fingers, asking 'Are you ready' before everything he does, putting his mouth over the camera lens 500 times? Get something new already. P.S. I like it when people get so upset, they start using nasty words, the truth does that to some.
friendinflorida
haha "blowing it our your ass". Brookie I DO believe you nailed it!
p.s. Loved the T-Rex shot.
HAL
Dean: With all due respect also, when you watch a show like Mindfake, and like magic as I do, and see this clown trying to pass off what he does as magic, it's like James Randi watching Uri Geller bending spoons. When you talk about my wife, my feeling is we saw each other for what we really are. These ridiculous stunts Criss does are as far from what he really is as possible. He lies about everything he does. He can't do half of what you see on Mindfake to a live audience. This is where the 'brains' statement applies. Mindfake is 10 minutes of lame video tricks, and 20 minutes of family and stooges trying to brainwash you into thinking he's doing something, and him telling you he's outdoing Houdini. Houdini always performed for a "LIVE" audience, and didn't have video technology. How can this moron compare himself to anybody? If women didn't find him attractive, he'd still be hanging his mother on the broom, another trick that's been around long before he was. To these love sick women, Criss is everything, but to Criss, these women are just more people to buy his junk and make him rich. This mentality escapes me.
Brookie
Hal he's doing what regular people do on twitter, so just keep blowing it out your ass cause your shit don't smell like roses either.
Hal, with all due respect, you say "how much brains does it take to be a Criss Angel fan?" Maybe it is there hearts he connects to just as it was your heart that you fell in love with your wife. And to change your comment around an phrase it this way, "how much more effort does it take to be a Criss Angel hater?" Such a waste of life to be so enthralled in wanting to see the demise of someone else.
HAL
Oh yes, the boy is so sick, and through Criss blah blah blah. Why does this great deed have to be told to the whole world? To benefit the boy, or to tell everybody what a great person Criss is. Hey, I'm Criss Angel, the greatest human that ever lived. Bull crap, the same Criss who made his mother wait, when she had heart surgery, till he finished a stunt, then boo hoo's about his father dying, made his wife pose as his girl, dragging out a divorce forever, to keep his fortune for himself. Maybe we should give him the Nobel Peace Prize? Try looking at things as they really are. "His art" has been around since they invented movies. His fame is well into 14 minutes.
friendinflorida
Well said Dean.
Whether you like Criss or not...it doesn't matter because he has achieved his goal. In Criss' words, he wants his art to "invoke emotion, conversation, interaction. An expression that comes out artistically" "Make people realize you don't have to live inside of this box of what magic is supposed to be"
You can't deny the positive impact on people. One of many examples is the boy, I forget which season, who lost his father, was sick himself, and thru Criss and the exposure to magic, overcame it all. That's true magic.
If the haters want to try and tear down the positivity, let em try. They only insure the further success of Criss.
HAL
Well Dean, with a show that has at least 90% BAD reviews, I don't think there's any guarentee that beLIEve will be here for 9 more years. Sooner or later, if Cirque is losing money, they may get an intelligent thought and cancel it. He can go on making Mindfake 6, 7, 8, whatever with his video tricks. Maybe when he's 50, these love starved women will have somebody else to fantisize over. He looks a lot worse now than when season 1 went on. I think he's running out of phony tricks, now all we see is the stupid pictures on Twitter, getting a hair cut, and close ups of his lips. How desperate are we for entertainment? A magician staging a phony arrest to get attention, how much brains does it take to be a Criss Angel fan? There's a sucker born every minute.
Dean
Funny, people would say that Criss' 15 minutes of fame are up...that was season one. Now I hear of a possible season 6. All the naysayers of the show gave Believe 3 months till closing. 14 months later the show is doing fine, and 9 years from now with Believe still up and running at the Luxor, these naysayers will still be talking about the 15 minutes. Criss is here to stay. Now get over it!
HAL
I'm sure you're right Justin. Bette Midler is leaving her show, I think in January. No chance of Criss moving into her #1 spot. That would be like going from The Devine Miss 'M' to the Defake Mr. 'A'. Would you bet again that beLIEve won't last another year?
Unfortunately Hal, we're probably never going to see those numbers from
Cirque. The closest thing we get to ticket sales figures are from sites like
these.
HAL
I guess Criss is paying his relatives to get tickets again. I still don't understand, Cher's score is 50.92, Midler is 40.00....Criss is 0.83 (When he's even on the top 10) That would indicate (maybe my math is wrong) that Cher is selling about 62 times as many tickets as Criss. Are they making any money from this bomb show? If they're paying Mindfake 100 million, shouldn't Cher be getting about a billion? I would really like to know how much they made or lost in the last year since beLIEve opened.
friendinflorida
"sighs" misses Vegas :(
timothydrake
So George Wallaca and the Improv at Harrahs beat out Cirques "0", Mystere and KA with a lousy .47 and .26? Said it once and I'll say it again... these stats are screwy.
