It’s so crazy it just might work. Penn & Teller star in an hour-long, narrative television comedy as themselves, Vegas performers by night and “reluctant detectives” by day.

Variety reports that ABC has given a script order (i.e. they’ve agreed to purchase at least one if not more) to the project. The pedigree on the show is pretty strong. The writer, Leonard Dick has penned scripts for House, Lost and The Mentalist.

The project will be produced by Warner Brothers.

The Mentalist meets P & T? Sounds like a winner to us.

    Looking forward to it.

Actually, it's not the first time. "Blackstone: The Magic Detective" was a radio program from 1948-50 where Harry Blackstone (played on the air by an actor) would solve mysteries.

Those are available on CD somewhere - but I can't wait to see P&T do this!
