This was from the front page of NBC.com until a few minutes ago when it was changed to to a picture of the cast from Jersey Boys. There is now no mention of David Copperfield on the site.
We’ve heard rumors of a magic surprise for the finale for weeks now, normally surrounding Nathan Burton who all but admitted he’d be making a return to perform on the show at Magic Live.
Meanwhile, the lovely Katie Kenner, who would have first hand knowledge of such things, is tossing cold water on the rumor on her Twitter account:
just to put any rumors to rest: @d_copperfield will NOT be on AGT tonight & @chriskenner and myself are new annual passholders to DL.
Is it a smoke screen to protect a big surprise? Did an over-anxious NBC web admin get the wrong message? Maybe DC and his team helped construct a big magic surprise but is not scheduled to perform in the flesh?
We’d bet you a new iPod Nano that DC doesn’t show up. We trust Mrs. Kenner.
