Zeenews reports that ‘well-known’ Malayalam film director Sathyan Anthikad has compiled and released ‘Magic India’, a national directory of all Indian magicians.
The 433-page directory, published by the Magic Academy of popular Indian magician Gopinath Muthukad, consists of contact details of about 2,000 conjurers from across the country. Muthukad said:
It is a source of reference for contacting both modern and heritage magicians. The directory consists of contact details from the renowned magician P C Sorcar (jr) to street conjurers
It took one year to collect, segregate and compile the data. The book would also be available free online. About 10,000 copies of the directory have been printed, Muthukad claimed, adding that the books would be distributed to tourism centres, hotels and restaurants across the country.
