It was only after coming back to South America that I realized how much magic I had been missing. Not only is there devout students of the art in various countries, but there is also a lot of very fresh and creative thinking method-wise coming from this side of the world. Some very out-of-the-box ideas are found South America, despite (or maybe because of) its distance from the big institutions of magic I found in parts of North America and Europe.

As you can see in this video, performance wise, you will also find different and original ways in which magic is presented here. Magicians combine different art forms and find inspiration in different places which they bring to their performances. The magician in the video is Radagast from an Argentina, and while he uses some classic ideas in magic, his character and overall performance is very unique. Enjoy.

Alex Linian is a student and performer of magic, currently exploring the art in his native country of Peru.
