Clearwater magician Bill Kahn has raised thousands for St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen - St. Petersburg Times.jpg

Here’s a heart warmer to start a week. Clearwater, FL resident Bill Kahn hasn’t pocketed any money for a magic show in the last 30 years, which is not to say he isn’t working. Instead, every thin dime he makes with his craft goes right to non-profit organizations that help the less fortunate. In fact, he hates handling the money he intends to give away, insisting that whenever possible the patrons send the funds to the charity direct.

“I always wanted to do the kind of magic that touches people’s lives,” he said. “That put me in a category apart from guys 10 times more talented than I am.”

His efforts are appreciated.

“He has been a guardian angel to us,” said Mary Lou Guthart, supervisor of the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen. “He truly is one of the pillars of our organization.”

Kahn has been recognized by former Florida Governors Jeb Bush and Lawton Chiles as well as former President Bill Clinton. Today, he gets a salute from everyone here at iTricks.
