The Qualification is that he is a doctor (http://www.neurosurgery.emory.edu/FacultyGupta.htm) and a talented speaker that can effect positive change.

If we are going to pick on qualification of leaders
of this country, lets look at Mr. Bush , in the past he successfully ran two companies into bankruptcy and has just about done the same the America.

I think his accomplishments as a brain surgeon and being an excellent communicator to the public on health issues makes him a candidate. His affiliation with Emory is noteworthy also. Lets not forget that people “poo-pooed” Reagan because he was a television/movie personality. Gupta is perfectly qualified for this position. And besides, he's only a candidate. He still has to be confirmed by Congress.

Why are you trying to make this about something its not? No one in their right mind uses gasoline while eating fire, it's most likely White Gas or Lamp Oil. Go ahead and inhale some lamp oil fumes and see how high you get.

It's not about getting high, it's about showing off a cool skill, and being high on adrenaline isn't gonna cause you to drive recklessly or damage your lungs.

This is why this guy is such a tool for coming out against legalization of weed. If 'smoking weed damages lung tissue' is the best reason you can come up with for throwing people in jail, where does it end? How is eating glass or inhaling the gasoline from the fire eating any different? Hell, you're doing it for the same reason: so you're brain will release pleasant chemicals; your drug of choice seems to be adrenaline, but others prefer dopamine.

I'm still WAY to terrified to try eating fire, but I attempted the Human Blockhead with the ink “tube” from a ballpoint pen, and got it about 5 inches into my sinuses on the second try… it made my eyes water incredibly, but it didn't hurt. I'm tempted to use a nail next time… can't be too much harder.
