Stuck In The 80s

Or more possibly nostalgia in general. A Tampa Bay writer who runs a Me Decade blog called Stuck In The 80′s alerts his readers today that he’s going to be filmed for the upcoming season of Bullsh!t during of all things a Night Ranger / Dennis DeYoung concert. He has already girded himself for the worst.

Sure, I realize that appearing on their show pretty much means I’ll be getting non-stop abuse for my love of the 80s — something completely irrational to outsiders. It’s ironic, however, because Penn Jillette & Teller (his legal name now after changing it from Raymond Teller) got their start in the 80s — both with their comedic magic act and appearances in movies like “My Chauffeur” and “Off Beat.”

Famous in the 80s? The hair doesn’t lie.

Yeah. They filmed us too. For “the good old days” stuck in the Renaissance.

Ah, the 80s. Everything was perfect then. Dennis DeYoung was in Styx where he belongs. Uri Geller was obscure once again. And most importantly, Steve Perry was in Journey, not that other poseur. Whatever! Gag me with a spoon.

I like Penn and Teller but they seriously must be running out of good ideas.
