For those of you glued to your television on this New Year’s Eve make sure you check out FOX at 11:40 p.m. EST for an appearance from our favorite Virtual Magician, Marco Tempest. Above is his Christmas greeting, we can only hope to see how he works in Auld Lang Syne.
We need to correct something from the last Criss Angel Watch podcast. As was pointed out to us by listener Jodi, the final episodes which were recently aired on A&E will not be among the 20 episodes on the soon to be release DVD set for Season Three.
However, we were correct in stating that you can purchase the episodes right now on The iTunes Store.
Wendy K. Kleinman’s dad had a bit of a hobby, collecting Houdini memorabilia. As her column yesterday on NewsOK.com points out, it kind of affected how she was raised, what with David Copperfield meandering through her house all willy nilly.
The collection (some would say an addiction) contains more than 1,500 books in 11 languages and Braille; 1,200 magazines; and countless photos, autographs, posters, handcuffs, pamphlets and personal belongings.
And while I’m used to it, having a straitjacket Houdini performed in and a 7-foot poster of Houdini’s face in your house makes for some unusual experiences.
David Copperfield spent two hours in our house one evening after a show in town. He prefers Dr Pepper to Coke.
As was pointed out on the David Copperfield News Podcast, this makes sense, since Dr. Pepper is delicious.
For a show that celebrated it’s fifth anniversary at the Rio Casino this year, it’s a great sign to continually show up in lists ranking the best shows on the strip. So cheers to the Bad Boys of Magic who were listed along with sexy newcomers like Monty Python’s Spamalot and Cirque du Soleil’s Love by the Las Vegas Review-Journal who should know a thing or two about these matters.
Here is what they had to say about Penn and Teller…
6. PENN & TELLER – Like the old jazz cats you suspect Penn would like to be, the smartly warped comedy magicians just keep on being their funky old selves, letting Las Vegas do the changing during their five years at the Rio.
Let’s hope 2008 brings a Vegas installation of Teller’s splatterfest version of Macbeth. Fingers crossed.
