Although Criss Angel and Jim Callahan made headlines today with their on-air scuffle, their audience dipped on a soft ratings night. Phenomenon was topped again by Pushing Daises and overtaken by CBS’ Kid Nation in the 8 p.m. hour. It did hold its number through the 9 p.m. hour where it was bested by a revamped Criminal Minds and the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Private Practice.
All this according to Zap2It.com…
“Pushing Daisies” led a quiet 8 p.m. hour, scoring a 5.7/10 for ABC. CBS’ “Kid Nation,” 4.4/8, finished second for the hour, beating the 3.9/7 for “Phenomenon” on NBC. Reruns of “Back to You” and “‘Til Death” put FOX in fourth, ahead of an “America’s Next Top Model” clip show, 2.2/4, on The CW.
CBS took over at 9 p.m. as Joe Mantegna’s debut on “Criminal Minds,” 9.4/15, drew the night’s biggest audience. ABC dropped one spot to second with “Private Practice,” 7.7/13. A second hour of “Phenomenon” held steady for NBC, keeping FOX’s “Kitchen Nightmares,” 2.6/4, in fourth. The CW aired a repeat of “Gossip Girl.”
Last week, Phenomenon pulled a 5.2 share in it’s debut episode.
Critically however, the show seemed to find a groove. Wayne Kawamoto of About.com who wasn’t pleased with the first go round, enjoyed the Halloween special and many skeptically inclined bloggers were pleased with Angel’s angry reaction to Callahan’s claim of authenticity.
