The Economist.com picked up on the Yale University paper about the magic industry’s self-imposed regulations that have sprung up instead of Intellectual Property law. The new article, like the paper itself, doesn’t get quotes or opinions from the magic inventors it cites. In fact, when we spoke to magic creators for our follow-up including Jim Steinmeyer (who is referenced in the paper), Joshua Jay and Andrew Mayne they all found the paper’s conclusions misrepresentative to their personal experiences.
During the taping for the most recent Magic Week in Review, Justin and Andrew spoke at length about the issue. That full discussion is available below for those interested.
