Fans of the original, British version of The Office will be delighted to hear that the show’s non-Gervais lead Martin Freeman will play the role of a struggling magician in a new Channel 4 series entitled Other People…
In ‘Other People’, which is currently in its pilot stage, he will play a 30-something who was successful as a teenager but is now struggling for success.
Freeman told Broadcast magazine: “It’s about this guy who used to do all the big shows like the Royal Variety Performance and Saturday Superstore when he was 18, but is now a bit washed up.
Freeman also played befuddled human Arthur Dent in the feature film version of the science fiction classic Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy. The news is reason enough to post this clip from The Office, just because.
