First poster

A few bits from the world of entertainment, beginning with the debut of the new Harry Potter poster. The Order Of The Phoenix doesn’t come out until July 13th next year, but a description of the teaser trailer attached to this weekend’s Happy Feet surfaced on the authority of all things Potter; The Leaky Cauldron.

• Both The Prestige and The Illusionist are officially profitable. The Nolan/Jackman/Caine drama is up to $58 million (budget: $40 mil) worldwide after four weeks in the theaters. Meanwhile the Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti flick is up to $45 million worldwide (it only cost $16 to make) after 12 weeks of release. DVD sales should make both of these solid successes for their respective studios and keep this gravy train rolling.
• Michael Hill of The Baltimore Sun, penned this lede to begin a trend article about magic’s current popularity:

Magic is hot, but not in the way it once was. A few centuries ago, being a great magician might have gotten you burned at the stake. Today, it might land you a permanent gig in Las Vegas.

The rest of the story sucks too.
