Christmas Carol TestChristmas Carol
by A. Black and T. Cherry

It is that time of the year again!

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is one of the all-time best selling classic books about the holiday season ever written and now, for the first time ever, it is also a professionally designed book test! Here’s the best part… it is TOTALLY readable from front to back; you’ll NEVER find the gaff. Yet, there it is, right in the text, on ever single page; powerful, simple, and immediately useable by novice and expert alike.

A spectator freely selects any page and you know the first word on the page. It’s that simple and direct. No questions asked and nothing is written down. There are no page forces and you never know the page number.

This is the perfect book test for walk around performances because there are only two steps; the spectator chooses the page and you divine the first word without hesitation. There is nothing to memorize and you don’t need any information from the spectator! There is no pumping, no forces, nothing.

A Christmas Carol is completely examinable before and after the performance and anyone can read the book from the beginning to end without ever finding the gaff. There are no duplicate prediction words and no gimmicks whatsoever; it is TOTALLY self-contained.

This is a complete mind reading effect that is ready to go with no set up and nothing to memorize right out of the package. You can repeat it as many times as you want!

Created by Josh Zandman and fleshed out and published by Black’s Magic. You will love carrying this little miracle around with you!

Pull it out of the package, take 30 seconds to skim over the instructions, and BANG… you can perform it to anyone, anywhere, anytime. It is one of the simplest but most powerful book tests ever invented.

Book of TreasureBook Of Treasure
by Ken Scott

The Coloring Book Enters the 21st Century!

You flip through a book titled “The Treasure Map to the Libraries,” showing a picture of a large treasure chest on each page, explaining that “The library is like a treasure chest.” Next you ask the audience, “What kind of treasure you might find in the library?” When they respond “Books!” you flip through the book again. But this time the pictures have changed to books! “That’s right,” you say. “Books are the treasure we find in the library.” You further explain that “The true treasure is the knowledge that we gain from reading the books. And the best part is it’s available to everyone!” As you say this last line you begin to flip through the book again, this time showing treasure chests opened up and full of treasure.

And now for the finale: You now fold the book in half (lengthwise) and have the audience recite the magic words, “Reading is Magic!” As the magic words are said, you pour from the folded book a supply of golden coins!

Double Coincidence By Devin Knight And Al Mann

Double CoincidenceDouble Coincidence
by Devin Knight and Al Mann

Mentalist tells the audience that before the show, he gave a lady a dictionary, a red crayon and an envelope. He asked her to secretly circle a word and to seal the dictionary in the envelope. She was instructed to tell nobody the word, nor let anyone tamper with the envelope. He says this envelope is still in the audience.
When it’s time to perform this effect, the Mentalist calls two people on stage.

The sealed envelope with dictionary is then retrieved by one of the spectators who holds on to it in full view. The Mentalist picks up a 300 page book and turning his head away, riffles the pages to have one spectator select a page from it. The book is opened at that place and given to spectator. It’s obvious to the audience that the Mentalist hasn’t had a chance to glimpse the pages of the open book. NO PAGE NUMBER IS CALLED OUT AT ANY TIME.

With his back still turned, the Mentalist asks the spectator to silently read the first few lines on the left page. Immediately, with no fishing, the performer describes what the person just read.

This is pretty amazing, but the Mentalist is ready for more, much more. He asks the person to read the first sentence on the right page. He tells the person to choose any object from the sentence and form a picture of it in his mind. The person has more than one choice of objects he could think of.

Dunniger’s Delight by Kenton Knepper – DVD

Dunniger’s DelightDunniger's Delight
by Kenton Knepper

A feature in Kenton’s stand-up and stage shows, it has also been performed on television and in intimate settings.

Kenton calls it “One of the most impossible and frightening effects an audience can witness.”

A spectator calls out a number and a playing card suit. The spectator is told to hold on to a deck and make sure the card is in the deck. It is. The performer insists he will never touch the deck. A few attempts at mental concentration, and the performer claims the chosen card is now gone from the spectator’s very own hands. Remember, the performer never touches the cards at all. Yet the chosen card is gone.

Not only that, the named card is found in a locked hotel room, inside an orange held by the spectator or anywhere you can imagine!
