Steps To Your Success: Successful Minded Thinking By Kyle Peron

When I decided many years ago to really take my magic seriously and to really find the success I wanted for my wife and I, I was puzzled about many things. I wanted success, I dreamed about it and I even told myself what I would do if I ever became successful. I had all these great ideas and plans but I never did anything with it.

I also thought that to be successful I had to be the most technically savvy magician and the BEST magician in my area. I felt I had to be perfect in order to find the success I wanted for myself. I realized that this was not entirely true at all.

Now I know I am not the best magician out there nor do I feel I am the most technically skillful. But, I do know that to be successful I needed to provide for my client something a lot of other entertainers can’t or were not willing to deliver upon. Let me explain a bit more if I could.

Self-promotion Stamp

Andrew Mayne

stamp1.jpgAnything your audience carries away from your show that reminds them of you is a good thing (except for maybe bruises). Consider making some stamps of your likeness that you can stick on playing cards, business cards or even currency.

You can either buy actual stamps using an online company that’ll put your photo on one, or use a photo editing program and a printer to make your own that you can print on to sticky back sheets.

I am not an easy person to get ahold of and I kinda like it that way. My friends and family know where I am; usually on a plane, in an airport, or on a ship at sea. (Hey, I just past 4 million miles with American Airlines - seriously!) I don’t know if I should get excited or feel pathetic. OK, moving on. I recently got an e-mail from someone who had been trying to track me down for some time. He was asking me for advice and so I replied to the best of my ability. Then something dawned on me as I was typing my response. Boom! ‘I’ve written this letter before and not just once.’ Yep, it’s been a while, but this information has passed from my lips and hands before; many times.

I have a reputation for being hard on theater technicians. I am presumed to be this mean guy. And I can be. Why? And what is the real story? It’s actually very easy to explain.

Audience Appeal by Rand Woodbury

Magiczine

I have a little bit of time, as I sit here in Terminal One at the Toronto Airport, so I thought I would touch on something that could prove to be very helpful to those not in the know. I, personally, have always walked that fine line between blue and politically correct. I live there. And I guess I’m good at it. Or I should say, I have learned to function there pretty comfortably. It’s what makes me who I am when I perform. And if you aren’t good at walking that ‘fine’ line, … avoid it. Period.

Shameless Self-Promotion Made Simple

Ghost Vision“Eighty percent of success is showing up.”
- Woody Allen

There’s a lot of truth in that both literally and metaphorically. Sometimes you don’t actually have to show up to be there. Appearing on television is one way to show up in front of lots of people. So is showing up in a mailbox.
