Draw Anything Prediction by Francis McAllister

It’s a very simple effect, but it’s very strong and packs a huge punch.

You mail an envelope to the organizer of the event you will be performing at, inside the envelope it has…

- A notepad
- A sharpie marker
- Another small envelope that has the words ” Prediction” written on it.

Over the phone you ask the spectator to draw any shape, number anything they want to doodle on the pad. “Would you be impressed if the prediction I had inside that envelope matched your drawing?” Of course the spectator agrees.

“What is the object you have drawn on the notepad”

“A smiley face”


“Wow this is absolutely amazing, I didn’t actually believe this would work. I think you are going to be very impressed with this, I cannot explain it over the phone. Bring the prediction with you, do not open it until we meet. This prediction I made is astounding”


The mentalist and the spectator get off the phone, a few days later they meet. The prediction envelope is open, the spectator reads the prediction that was in the hands of the spectator the entire time. The prediction drawing matches the spectators selection…

How it’s done

You need a thumb tip, a note pad and a sharpie. when you ask the spectator what they drew on their pad on the phone, you simply draw the same on your notepad. You fold it up and place it inside your thumb tip. I use these exact words when asking them what object they had drawn.

“Would you be impressed if the prediction I had inside that envelope matched your drawing?” Of course the spectator agrees.


“What is the object you have drawn on the notepad”

The entire presentation is focused on that envelope, you have to make sure you emphasize the prediction inside the envelope. How they will be very impressed with the results. In most cases the spectator wont even remember the process of the phone call, to them they drew a freely chosen object and you predicted it. They held on to the prediction for days, no tampering what so ever.


Now all you need to do is bring your thumb tip with the loaded duplicate drawing inside it. Open up the prediction envelope, showing them a small piece of paper inside( this is of course a blank piece of paper). You go into the envelope and unload the duplicate drawing from your thumbtip, leaving the thumb tip in the envelope with the blank piece of paper.

Have the spectator read your prediction and have them bring out their drawing as well from a few days ago.
